Lightwire Theater: A Very Electric Christmas @ Destin United Methodist Church Life Center

NFB is proud to present Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas on December 22 at 7:30 p.m.  and December 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Destin United Methodist Church’s Life Center. Lightwire Theater, a former finalist on America’s Got Talent, will thrill audiences of all ages with this magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope set to timeless holiday hits including Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey and Tchaikovsky.

In this wonderful story, Santa’s helpers are putting the final touches on presents as a young bird named Max and his family head south for the winter. When Max gets blown off course during a snowstorm, he ends up alone and lost at the North Pole. As he tries to make his way home, his adventure begins when he encounters friendly caroling worms, dancing poinsettias, Nutcracker soldiers, mischievous mice and more.

Lightwire Theater rose to national prominence on the hit show America’s Got Talent, and brings to life a truly a unique, innovative and visually dazzling theatrical experience. Utilizing the talents of four cast members, they strap on costumes fitted with electroluminescent lights, turning their entire bodies into life sized puppets to bring the cast of creatures and scenery to life through movement and dance. Box office priced tickets for Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas are $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.

NFB’s 2018-2019 season is presented by the St. Joe Community Foundation. New Moves @ Northwest Florida Ballet

New Moves will be performed onFri., March 8 at 7:30 p.m., Sat., March 9 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. as well as Sun., March 10 at 2:30 p.m.New Moves features the premiere of new and cutting edge works by guest choreographers as well as a mix of contemporary, neoclassical and classical pieces from the NFB repertoire. The four performances also include access to the juried visual arts exhibition featuring some of Northwest Florida’s most talented artists presented by Okaloosa Public Arts.

This unique studio series experience is performed in a specially designed black box theater at NFB’s downtown studios and features choreography from Todd Eric Allen, Susan Honer, Amanda Wiley and Lindsey Kelly Brewer. To learn more about the choreographers, CLICK HERE.

In addition to the incredible performing arts experience, attendees will also be treated to a stunning, juried visual arts exhibition from the area’s most talented artists showcasinga wide range of media, from traditional paint on canvas to high-resolution photography. The juried visual arts exhibition will open on Thurs., March 7 at 7:30 p.m. and is free for the public to attend.

Ballet at Twilight 2019 @ Grand Boulevard's Grand Park

NFB will stage its annual free community performance, Ballet at Twilight, featuring a mixed repertoire of classic and modern works in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin’s Grand Park on Sat., June 22 at 7:30 pm. This popular outdoor production will feature new and established works performed by NFB dancers and international guest artists, including four pieces that recently premiered in the company’s New Moves program.

Ballet at Twilight is presented as part of Grand Boulevard’s Coastal Culture series, made possible by the Grand Boulevard Arts & Entertainment Program.
