2018 Vintij Wine Dinner @ Vintij Food & Wine

Join the Northwest Florida Ballet for the “Fall Into Dance” four-course wine dinner at Vin’tij Food & Wine on Sat., Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person (excluding gratuity) and seating for the event is limited.

Guests will dine on a delectable four-course menu by Vin’tij featuring seasonal delights that dance with the extraordinary flavors of Jackson Family Wine’s Freeemark Abbey and Brewer Clifton upper tier brands as well as several others while NFB Music Director David Ott and soprano Kara Bishop provide entertainment.

The event supports live music provided by the Northwest Florida Ballet Symphony Orchestra for NFB’s 2018-2019 season production of The Nutcracker. The NFB Symphony Orchestra is led by NFB Music Director David Ott and is comprised of the finest musicians from the Southeast and abroad.

Nutcracker 2018 @ Mattie Kelly Arts Center

NFB returns to the Mattie Kelly Arts Center to present the 39th annual production of the classic holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Performances will be held on Fri. and Sat., Nov. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m. and features live musical accompaniment by the NFB Symphony Orchestra, led by Music Director and conductor David Ott. This timeless tradition is a celebrated favorite of families along the Emerald Coast as it marks the start of their holiday season.

The Nutcracker is set in a small German town in 1835 set to the music of Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky with choreography by celebrated NFB Artistic Director Todd Eric Allen. International ballet stars Taras Domitro Suarez and Adiarys Almeida Santana will perform the principal roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Prince. Several other international guest artists, the NFB Company and over 100 local children round out the cast. Box office prices for adults are $38 each and $18 for children 12 & under.

NFB’s 2018-2019 season is presented by the St. Joe Community Foundation. Season signature co-sponsors include: VIE Magazine, Cox Media, Emerald Coast Magazine, VIP Destin Magazine and ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals. NFB is sponsored in part by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.

Lightwire Theater: A Very Electric Christmas @ Destin United Methodist Church Life Center

NFB is proud to present Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas on December 22 at 7:30 p.m.  and December 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Destin United Methodist Church’s Life Center. Lightwire Theater, a former finalist on America’s Got Talent, will thrill audiences of all ages with this magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope set to timeless holiday hits including Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey and Tchaikovsky.

In this wonderful story, Santa’s helpers are putting the final touches on presents as a young bird named Max and his family head south for the winter. When Max gets blown off course during a snowstorm, he ends up alone and lost at the North Pole. As he tries to make his way home, his adventure begins when he encounters friendly caroling worms, dancing poinsettias, Nutcracker soldiers, mischievous mice and more.

Lightwire Theater rose to national prominence on the hit show America’s Got Talent, and brings to life a truly a unique, innovative and visually dazzling theatrical experience. Utilizing the talents of four cast members, they strap on costumes fitted with electroluminescent lights, turning their entire bodies into life sized puppets to bring the cast of creatures and scenery to life through movement and dance. Box office priced tickets for Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas are $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.

The four performances also include access to the juried visual arts exhibition featuring some of Northwest Florida’s most talented artists presented by Okaloosa Public Arts.

This unique studio series experience is performed in a specially designed black box theater at NFB’s downtown studios and features choreography from Todd Eric Allen, Susan Honer, Amanda Wiley and Lindsey Kelly Brewer. To learn more about the choreographers, CLICK HERE.

In addition to the incredible performing arts experience, attendees will also be treated to a stunning, juried visual arts exhibition from the area’s most talented artists showcasinga wide range of media, from traditional paint on canvas to high-resolution photography. The juried visual arts exhibition will open on Thurs., March 7 at 7:30 p.m. and is free for the public to attend.
