In 2012, NFB launched the NFB Pre-Professional Program (PPP) for high school students. The PPP is an extension of the NFB Académie and for high school students in ninth through twelfth grades and is another collaboration with the Okaloosa County School District. This program is meant to bridge the gap between the student and professional world of dance. Students participate in a rigorous dance schedule with emphasis on career preparation and professional development.

NFB Pre Professional Program Alumni have gone on to dance with American Ballet Theater, The Juilliard School, Boston Ballet Pre Professional Division, Ballet West Pre Professional Division and University of South Florida.

Students selected for the program have concentrated instruction in ballet as a part of their overall academic and artistic education. Directed by Todd Eric Allen, Artistic Director/CEO of Northwest Florida Ballet, the NFB Pre-Professional Program faculty consists of well qualified, certified academic teachers and ballet professionals.

NFB Pre-Professional Program auditions for students in grades 9-12 were held in May 2017 for the 2017-2018 academic year. Please visit the Auditions page to learn more about our process.
