Northwest florida ballet academie

The NFB Académie will be holding auditions for incoming third grade students for the 2013-2014 school year in May, 2013. Please see the bottom of this page for more information.

The NFB Académie is a free, integrated arts and academic education program for third through eighth grade boys and girls who demonstrate the potential to excel in dance.

NFB Académie is a comprehensive academic and artistic education program offered jointly by Northwest Florida Ballet and the Okaloosa County School District. The Académie opened in August of 2002 with an initial class of 30 third graders. Each year the students are selected by audition from the general population of children in the second grade. No prior dance training and no particular academic achievement is required. Auditions are open to all children in the second grade and selection is made solely on the child's potential to learn to dance.

Students selected for the program have concentrated instruction in ballet as a part of their overall academic and artistic education. Directed by Todd Eric Allen, Artistic Director of Northwest Florida Ballet, the NFB Académie faculty consists of well-qualified, certified academic teachers and ballet professionals.
